Hi, I’m Alan, the therapist behind Phoenix Down Therapeutic Massage.
After graduating from the Massage Therapy program at Medicine Hat College in 2013, I’ve spent the past several years helping clients manage pain, improve mobility, support recovery, and feel more at ease in their bodies.
I’ve always been drawn to work that allows me to help people in a practical and meaningful way, and one of the most rewarding parts of massage therapy is seeing the progress clients make over time, whether that’s moving with less discomfort, recovering from physical stress, or simply feeling more like themselves again.
Living with rheumatoid arthritis myself, I understand what chronic dysfunction and day-to-day physical strain can feel like. That experience has shaped the way I approach treatment: with patience, adaptability, and the understanding that no two bodies respond exactly the same way.
My treatments may incorporate techniques like myofascial release, dynamic cupping, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, depending on the needs and comfort level of each client.
Education has also become a major part of my career. Between 2019 and 2022, I taught, trained, and mentored massage therapists, and I’m currently back in university working toward becoming a teacher. I believe people feel better outcomes when they understand their bodies and feel involved in their care, rather than just being treated and sent on their way.
My goal with Phoenix Down Therapeutic Massage is to create a space that feels calm, professional, and approachable — somewhere people can come to feel supported, listened to, and genuinely cared for.
